I looked out my window the other day and Zak and Ashlee had decided to go outside. I was cracking up at them putting on these funny winter hats and then going out in the rain! These two keep me on my toes.

Pocatello Dance Competition

We went to Pocatello on friday to the girls dance competition and they did great!! We were so proud of how well they all three did. We dance with Footworks Dance Studio and they have really learned a lot this year.

Brandi got a 1st in her Freestyle Solo

Both Brandi and Holly's team dances got a 2nd and a 1st place finish.

Holly received a 2nd on her freestyle solo

Shelby's dance group recieved 1st place on both dances and Shelby received a 1st place on her freestyle solo!!

Chad bought these old snowmobiles for the kids and they have had lots of fun on them. I think they are pieces of junk, but the kids are really enjoying them!!

Baylee got a tu-tu and some skates for Christmas!! She wears them everyday!! She was all tuckered out on Christmas day afternoon!!

Santa brought Zak all Spiderman stuff!! His presents were even wrapped in Spiderman wrapping paper!!

The kids all got matching pajamas from Chad and I on Christmas Eve.

Brandi Ruth Brokens

Brandi was in a Christmas play with the whole sixth grade this last week and I think she was so cute up there on the stage!! She is getting so big. Brandi is such a nice girl and we are loving watching her grow up.

Theresa and I were trying to figure out what she should dress up as, so I got out the headbands that my kids wear on the 4th of July and she put on red white and blue clothes. Then we wrote USA on her cheek----she went as 'an American'

Theresa is as beautiful as ever!!

Brandi and Holly were tigers, Shelby was a bunny, Baylee was a kitty, Zak and Ashlee were little Devils. (no surprise there) The kids were all dressed up and ready to go.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree!!!

We went Trunk or Treating at the church. The little ones wanted to start eating their treats immedietly!!!

The kids all sat out on the porch and handed out candy after we got done trick or treating. It was a really fun night. The weather was nice and the kids all had a good time.

The friend on the far right is Shelby's friend and she dressed up like Hannah M0ntana---we teased her all night that with that long blonde wig, she looked like she dressed up as a Brokens!!!

We took a trip to Utah to my sister Keri's. We stopped at temple square and as always we had a nice time there. The temple grounds are always so beautiful and peaceful. It was fun for the kids to show Theresa around. My brother Rich came with us and it was great to spend time with him. I don't get to see him often enough so it was a nice say.

Bear World (Rigby, ID)

We took a trip to Bear World.

It was such a fun day at Bear World. We saw the strangest thing as we were driving through the park.... a gray cat (domestic cat as in hear kitty kitty)was sitting right in front of a sleeping bear. The cat was gray and white. It just looked up at all of us like it had no problem sleeping by an 800 pound bear!!! It was so amazing. I asked one of the park rangers about it, but I don't think they believed me. I told them that I even had video!! (the picture above on the right shows the cat in the weeds and the bear is to the left under the braches asleep) Anyway, it was a fun day. One bear walked right up our suburban. The kids also got to pet and feed deer, chickens, turtles, goats and a very onry pig. It was a fun day for our family.

Chad's brother (Daniel), his mom (Jeannie), and Daniels three kids, (Ralee, Cage and Tucker) came for a visit this weekend. We took them to the Teton Flood sight and then to the Sand Dunes. We are really lucky to have the Sand Dunes only 4 miles from our town. They are so much fun. The kids climb to the top of them an then run and jump. It was fun having all of the family here for the weekend.

Chad, Daniel and I were one this one dune visiting and we look over and all of the kids had gone way over to this other dune. It was way bigger than the one we were on. The kids had a blast! When we got home I made them all take their clothes off on the back porch and then I dunked them in the tub one sandy kid at a time!!

ALOHA!!! Chad and I went to Hawaii this spring and it was heaven. I have never been to such a beautiful place. If we could afford to move there, we would pack up and go tomorrow. We had a wonderful time.

Brandi did really well on her science project. Her project was on how humidity effects hair. She had fun getting the data for her project from her Auntie Malinda, Cousin Steffi and Holly. Brandi got an A+ on her project. (Thanks Malinda and Steffi) Oh yes, and thanks to Holly for letting Brandi cut off a 38" lock of her hair.

This is our exchange student from Germany. Her name is Theresa. This is a picture of us when we picked her up at the airport!! (we are aware that we look like GIANTS compared to her) Theresa fits right into our family. We love her so much and are so thankful to have her as part of our family.
